CAUTION & CONGRATULATIONS
Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 11:49AM This evening, around 7:00 pm the cast list will be released. Some people will be thrilled, some people will be disappointed, some people may even be angry - for a moment. Whatever you are feeling...
1) Do NOT react immediately - especially on SOCIAL MEDIA. Find a family member or close friend with whom you can privately work through any initial negative feelings. Posting negative responses will put you in jeopardy of losing the privilege of being part of the musical cast.
(You may be thinking, Mrs. Klicker doesn't do social media -she won't know. Wrong - Northgate is a small and well connected community. Some how it will get back to me. The trust and respect that is part of being a member of our Musical Family is more important than a misguided need to vent publicly. We will all be working together very closely for the next few months. Please remember to choose kindness and respect.)
2) Congratulate and encourage your fellow cast members. Don't let jealousy take root. If someone got the part you wanted, push yourself to congratulate that person. It may not be easy. You may feel like it's not natural. Practice "playing the part" of a gracious person. Practice and it may begin to feel real. Telling that person, "Good for you!", will turn out to be good for YOU!
3) Be excited and grateful. We have the opportunity to Make Musical Magic this year!
